Art in Service/ Whittier International.

I taught a 4th anf 5th grade theatre arts class along with Jennifer Hedrich last year for Art in Service. We discussed what culture and community meant and made up a play along with the children. They later performed it at MCAD at the end of the semester. It was my first time teaching and creating work with children in Minneapolis, which was a great experience. Enjoy.

.restore them murals.

So I returned to Chicago two weeks ago, just in time for the mural lecture at Yollocalli Outreach, which is located on 18th St. It was interesting to listen to a number of muralists speak about their process and collaboration with students, local businesses, other artists and the rest of the hood. Pure soul. After the lecture, I spoke to one of the muralists, Roberto Valadez, who happens to need help restoring some murals this summer. So why now get involved? So, starting in June, I'm going to paint and help save history. I'm very excited.

Hello Everyone. I would like to share a photo with you. It's the heart of Pilsen, the neighborhood I grew up in and boy, is it a wild place. Truly inspirational. It's used as reference every time I wonder why I decided to attend the Minneapolis College of Art and Design. Enjoy.
